Default I would like all of your opinions

I have had an autometer shift light for a while now. I didnt see the point in getting an entire new tach because i used to think they were big and bulky. Although now i can see you need one when you raise your rpms and rev limiter. But until i sell my shift light which probably wont be for a while, i have had it mounted on the steering column. At first it looked cool but im a little tired of it. I know its not exactly a Harlan but what do you guys think if i mounted in in the holder/hole thingy next to the lighter??
Thanks

You could put it in a a/c vent.

Function before Form is the rule I'd go by with a shift lite. I want to be able to see it clearly.

My stock tach works fine, but some other 99+ cars have slow tachs. I think only the '98s work correctly (fast)

would it really be a matter of being able to see it. I mean guys with the Harlan put it in the cigarette lighter. Mine is bigger and probably just as bright so i dont think putting it in that hole would be that big of a deal. What do you still think??

My stock tach is very slow, but i don't really use it racing. My shift light is in the center a/c vent. It's set at 5800rpm, i like to shift at 6000 so when i see the light i shift as quick as possible, which means i'm probably at 5900 or 6000 if im a little slow.

Heu ZMAN.......do you have an AUTOMETER not a Harlan in the A/C vent.....And for anyone to answer...turning on the A/C, at full blast for this question's sake, wouldnt hurt the shift light would it?

RUALS1; I have a harlan light, i'm not sure if your autometer will fit in the a/c vent? I don't get to use the a/c that much here in upstate NY, but i haven't had any problems, it's just cold air i don't think it will hurt anything.

I have a Proform, and mounted it in the hole next to the fog light switch! I don't have ASR, so there wasn't a functional switch!

My friend has his autometer in the left hand corner of the dash, mine with the tach is to the right of the steering wheel....look at my profile for some pics of it..
