Default New TA - Dashpad is horribly cracked - what are my options

Hey guys,

I just purchased a 98 Trans Am to daily drive. It has some flaws here and there, but the biggest thing that bugs me is the plastic dash pad up by the windshield.

This thing is in seriously bad shape. It looks like someone threw a bowling ball at it.

What are my options?

Are these easy to find. It looks like it would be a PITA to replace.

Does anyone make a dash pad cover of some sort that looks decent?

Thanks
Zack

You can replace it. Any pad from a 93-02 F-body should fit.

As far as removal, I haven't done it before but I've heard it's very easy. You remove the a-pillar covers and pull it off. I think it attaches with velco at the front.

They are easy to find - just look in the Classifieds here on the site or for cars that are being parted out, and make a request...

or since you asked for options..... you can cover it with a cloth dash pad

Naw it really isn't that hard to swap out. Might be a lil hard to find one in decent shape though.

I replaced mine too, very easy fix. It took about 5 min, at the most.

Wrong. some camaros had odd shapes. And 93-96 has different defrost vents than 97-02. I learned this when I went to go buy a new dash from a 95 for $30 from a guy and learned the vents were different. I didn't want it.
