Default 1st Trans Am Dash Gauge Pod Ever?

Well i figured id try my hand at fiberglass and try something different.I was tired of the A-pillar and did a search but nobody sold or has made a dash pod from what i could find.So i thought id try.I couldnt find vinyl exactly the interior color so i went with black.I still need to mount it securely but it stays fine on the dash while driving around.Yes,its not perfect, but its my first time at fiberglass, and im happy with it.It actually sits pretty flush on the dash and its SO much easier to see in my peripheral vision or glace over.
Started with this

now fiberglassed

good idea, but I think you need to spend a little more time on it. the vinyl wrap job looks pretty bad, the gauges don't look even and it doesn't seem to fit very flush to the dash.

they were on the A-pillar....and when youre in a 600+rwhp 6 speed car its a bit difficult to watch the A/F and coolant temps on the pillar and pay attention to whats in front of you.more function than form.

Our dash's don't really seem to encorporate the look of those too well. I think it looks out of place. On a WRX or GTO they look very good becuause their dash's aren't 82123098 miles long. However, it was a good idea.

Good idea, I think it looks to bulky though. That's the one thing I like about the the 99-04 mustangs was that gauges looked great there. I think you can do that with the GTO also?

Not bad but now I would just put them in the center vent rings. But great job on trying something different.

I admire your time, but it's just to big and looks tacked on IMO.

Nice attempt, but overall it looks kind of crappy. No offense man. The gauges aren't evenly spaced or level with each other Seriously though, Nice try, and if it works for you, that is all that matters!

Not the best but it works. At least now that you have the concept of it down you can always make another one!

i would suggest making yours extend back onto the dash about 8" deeper and using body filler to make it fit the contour of the dash better. finally, have it vinyled at an upholstery shop so they can make the seam look more professional.

I must commend you on the work done so far. I know it can be discouraging to see all of the negative feedback, but please dont let it discourage you, i wanna see this done, it has potential.
