Default amatuer mechanic with some trans questions.

hey guys i dont know alot about trans. but i do know that my 4l60e is going out on me. i have a very shallow wallet. what should i do? should i just save up the money and get a trans built? its my daily driver. and i cant afford to much down time. what would everyone suggest i do. lol

if you dont beat on it get one out of another car, thats a cheap solution but not neccesarily the best.
