Default How do I flush transmission cooler lines and trans cooler???

I am about to start the swap out of my 4l60e after it died a couple of months ago. Apparently the pump went out. The tranny pan had a lot of gray sludge (metal particles) in it.

I am going to be replacing the tranny and converter.

I need to know what is the best way to make sure I get all the junk out of the tranny cooler lines and tranny cooler. I have the stock tranny cooler lines and a B&M Supercooler.

THANKS

Not sure where you can get it locally you might try a trans shop but a can of cooler flush works well followed by blowing it out with air. We supply a can of this with all our units.

Agreed Just go to a trans shop or parts store and they have a can of chemical flush , Last time I put a trans in I think it was like 15 dollars

I used an old fuel pump off of a 4.8L truck that worked great. I flushed a jug of mineral spirits through until it came out clear, and then flushed two quarts of tranny fluid through until the mineral spirits were flushed out. This was all done at the recommendation of Vince at FLT. FWIW, the junk that initially came out was black and about as nasty as anything I've ever seen. Unfortunately, a lot of folks skip this vital step when adding a new tranny.

I've used this before and it worked pretty darn good
