converter swap
converter swap I just recently swapped verter's on my car. I went from a SS3600 to a PT4000, and now the car is banging the rev limiter. Should anything have changed, as far as shift points and stuff. I know when I went from stock to the SS, I did not have any problems. What would be the difference with this swap. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Re: converter swap I will be interested in this too...I just installed a PT4000 Sunday going from a Midwest 3400....I have yet to hit it though, as I put a new tranny in at the same time, and am doing a little break in period...
Re: converter swap I tell you what man even though its hitting the limiter, I can definitely feel the difference. I am curious though, how sensitive is the tranny when it comes to tranny fluid. If it is not right on the mark will this happen, can you have too much or too little.

Re: converter swap Your prob doing one of a couple of things. Either your shift points are too close to your rev limiter...
Your spinning way too much off the line and the cars speed not where it needs to be yet the motor is spinning its *** off. (this happens a lot to 98's cause of the difference in the RCM's.)
Your tranny is weak and slipping... or the fluid level is not right.
Check it and recheck it.
