Default 4L70e DTC P0700 - Trans Overheating??? Calling all techs for Help!!!

I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS with a 4L70e upgraded with parts recommended/purchased from Pro Built Automatics. It recently thru a DTC Check Engine Light code P0700 which I understadn means there is a more specific code in the TCM. My DashHawk pulled this code but I guess will not pull the code that is stored in the TCM. Anyways, trans shifts fine, but trans temp climbs way up (also monitored via DashHawk) during driving (weather is like 20 degrees outside). Trans temps are normally 190's and now they are climbing into the 240-250 range and then 1-2 shift becomes very firm??? Any ideas as to what would cause trans temps to skyrocket, while trans seems to be shifting OK other than aftr it heats up???

Check the codes in the TCM first. Also look for any restrictions in the cooler lines.

Yeah, I just don't have any access to anyone who can pull codes from TCM right now. When I get home, I am going to put it up on the hoist to see if I can tell that fluid is actually flowing thru the trans cooler lines.

I would guess a lockup issue . Possibly TCC solenoid or PWM but until you get that code you would be chasing your tail looking

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.... today paying close attention while driving, I am pretty sure that it is not going into overdrive... not sure if this helps with the diagnosis or not? Would this cause major heat issues after 15-20mins of highway/city driving??? I am panning on getting the DTC code pulled from the TCM on Monday morning and was wondering if anyone knows that if I can just pull my TCM and bring it to my local tuner (Vector Motorsports) if they would be able to retrieve the DTC or not. Just trying to avoid the hassle of going to a dealer and not to mention paying them $90 for 30 seconds to hook up a tech 2 scanner. If anyone knows if this is possilbe to do or not on a bench, please chime in! THanks again for your input. I am hoping that the short periods that my trans got up to the 250+ temps has not totally fried everything! ... it still seems to shift okay when at normal temps other than the overdrive issue?
