Default What would you do?

Sent a 4l60e to a builder to have it set up to handle a 408 w/200 shot.
Spent approx $2000.00 for build. ( I am intentionally not using the builders name, not a builder that advertises here). Took way too long to get it back.
Used the 3500 converter that was in the car before build. The transmission never shifted right. After getting the car back from the tuner(another nightmare, again no one who advertises here) it was clear thar the trans was shot after less than 200mi.
The builder agreed to fix it for free under warranty. After 4 months finally got the trans back. It sat in the shipping container for a few months while money was saved for a new converter. After installing the trans with a new converter, flushed lines and cooler, it slipps.
The car was driven less than 10 miles, loaded on a trailer and taken to a tuner that has an excellent reputation. He eliminated the possibility of it being caused by a charging/tuning problem. BUT he dyno'd the car. Now the fluid is burned. The consensis between the trans builder and tuner is that the epc motor is bad.
The builder has offered to repair again it if it is removed and shipped to him for the third time, where it will likely remain for an extended period of time.
Thoughts, oppinions, ideas?

It is possible the EPC is bad unfortunatley without a dyno theres no way to really know other than and electrical check which does not verify mechanical. You can put a guage on the trans in the car and watch to see of the PSI varies with throttle. not sure how to advise you beyond that.
However in anycase the builder should make it a primary unit to fix rather than having it wait in line. We always put any warranty at front of the line. Its just the way it should be handled.

Default Was on dyno

The car was dyno'd again. What info would be helpfull in pinpointing the epc? Is the epc inexpensive and serviceable from the pan. What I'm getting at is. What is your opinion on replacing the epc, flushing the system again and giving it another shot. Do you feel like the dyno pull and 10 mi. on the street along with the burnt fluid requires removal and rebuild?
Thanks for the input it is appreciated

Default Thanks for the info Performabuilt.

And the $800.00 converter?
As much as money is a huge issue in this case, can you give an approx. price to do the work assuming there are no hard part issues? The only reason to even consider sending it back to the builder is purely economic. Also getting a fresh set of eyes to look at it maybe a good idea. This trans is suppost to have some quality parts in it and verification may be justified. Do you offer any Veterans discounts?
Thanks

Never use that builder again. Get a trans from one of our sponsors. They build kickass trans and for $2000 you could have gotten one badass trans from any one of them that would be guaranteed to work right the first time.

Agreed, but if it's not too late in the game, you might look into a 4L80 at this stage. That's a lot of power to be throwing at a 60, even built by our wonderful sponsors. Is getting your money back an option?
