3800-4000 should be a nice comprimise with either motor or spray. I'm giving a 5000 a try and probly have it tightened up but being as I already have it I figure why not try something a little on the extreme.

god that is big..you think that is a good size for the street.

I would think you will want a 3800-4000. I'm running a TR224-112 with a 3400 and will be getting it re-stalled to ~ 4000 at the end of the year.

I would run an SST series 9" set at 4600.This is a proven converetr with your combo.Chevpower runs one very similar in an F-Body.

so around a high 3s or low 4000 range

stumprrp 04-05-2009 04:18 PM

i would say personally a 3800 if your going to spray, i dont know too much but i know my 3600 with a cam bigger than yours is much too small to get into the power band, but my car is NA

eric01ss 04-05-2009 07:43 PM

listen to fti!

gibe fti or circle d a call! you need a 4500 for your setup man!

stumprrp 04-05-2009 09:18 PM

dont you guys think 4500 is way too high for a car that makes peak power @ 5800?

FTICONVERTERS 04-06-2009 02:56 PM

we run converters like this combo all the time. The SST series converter is designed to get you a high enough stall but with excellent efficiency. As long as we are 1200 away we are good.

Mind you, most of these recommendations are for strip only. Without saying what you plan with your car, we can only guess. Also what tires and gears do you have? You may want to only do highway rolls with it and dialy drive it, or you may be looking for only outstanding 60'. I would recommend a converter between a 3500 (nitrous use) up to a 4500 (Max ET effort for the street), on a 2.0 (hooking on street tires, efficient up top) up to a 2.4 (wheels stands on slicks, or good street manners). Talk to the converter manufacturers as they will be the best to suggest a proper converter, not forum users (who mainly have had one coneverter experience). :)

Very well said. There are a lot of factors in determining the right converter for your combination. Current mods, intended use, future mods - all important info. Find a converter builder you feel comfortable with and go from there.

Also, a lot of guys are going off what they have in their 4L60E... not a TH350. I agree with FTI and would say around 4500. I DD my 4k stall in my 4L60E. I'm going with a TH400 and will be around 4500ish stall
