What size input shaft?

What size input shaft? I was told there are 1" and 7/8" input shafts on 4l60e transmissions depending on application but can't get the search to cooperate with me to find out which is correct...
do Yank aftermarket converters come in either? On the site I see no option. My transmission is a 98 4l60e from a 98 camaro to the best of my knowledge...

Your input and stator shafts should look like this.

The 4L60 has two styles of input shafts. They are both the same 30 spline though. The difference is where the lock up o-ring is located. You have the LS style like Vince shows.
On a side note, be glad to help you select a converter. We would love to make you another Circle D raving fan.

so then all lsx based transmissions have the same shaft? it was just earlier 4l60e that were different?
I have a Yank converter sitting on the bench now. But before I pull my transmission I need to know if there is any possible reason this converter which was in an 04 GTO would not mate to my transmission so I can get a different core or the right parts to have it built on hand. It is a tight fit and my exhaust will have to be removed or cut off and once the transmission is out my car will be down until it's ready to go back together.
The engine/tranny combo is a 98 and supposedly had under 50k miles on it when I bought it. The transmission had the fbody style tailhousing on it.
