Talking Going th400 want you thoughts on cam?

ok i have a 98 z28 its all stock no bolt ons running 13.0 at 108. now i have a raptor th400 level 3 with a megablaster stall for NOS.

last time i went th350 in my last car i had a ms4 cam with a 3800 vig...
this time i got a th400 built rev. man. with turbo cheeta shifter my ms4 was great cam only.

how you guys think it will run with a stock motor just till i deside on a cam think i can go faster then 13.0?or just cam it up when i put tranny in?this is no rush i have no susp but sfc on car thats it.

cams i seen i think its gx5 something like that,vindicator,f-15 or i might just get a custom cam for NOS? i will take pics and videos of this build from the ground up this will be fun since i dont have to hide what i do no more i wanna be proud of my work and ill post times etc...

didn't you like that ms4 cam? I have the tv2 cam whitch is smaller, but if you are running nitrous the smaller cam may be better for streetability, or is this a more track oriented car?

If you don't have a stall now you will blow that 13.0 pass out of the water with the 3800.

I've seen a car wit hthat t-rex cam make some killer track times with a big stall.

yes i have a 4000 megablaster raptor. ms4 was great local tuner steve had it on the money. i think ill just go custom this time. i was curious did anyone just stay stock with a th400 and had anytimes etc... wanna try and push my stock cam to the max

i had a th350 with a 3300 converter for a month or so. i ran a 12.9@ 109mph with it, figured out i hated the auto stuff so traded all my auto for another m6 setup. with same combo ran 12.3 at 112. lol auto sucks. banging gears is way better. anyone can drive a auto

The 350 and 400 can use the same converter if you still have it. The difference is the gear ratios: 350-2,52, 1,52, and 1 to 1. 400-2.48, 1.48, 1 to 1. The converter stall is based on a lot of variables and set-up of your engine, trans, diff, tire size, etc.

good info. but im h/c now tsp 5.3 heads and cut. cam look in my sig. almost done but i got hurt on a motorbike so its all on hold for a ferw weeks till i heal up

yeah this was a buddy of mine old set up only diff. is i added a th400 410 gears and minus a bbk intake he had.with a full weight car he ran 10.8 with a soft 1.7 60ft spraying 150 shot tnt. so im hoping to get get close or a little faster shooting 175. if i dont get faster not a problem ill just get more tuning done im still on his old tune ill do susp. soon also to get my et down

1 part needed anybody it the shift lever on the th400 were the shiftcable hooks up to a small piece that attches to tranny on the side i have the main big bracket that holds cable in place..
