Default 99 Trans Am WS6 4speed auto to TCI 6speed auto

Im a proud owner of two Trans Am's a 1994 T/A WS6 with a heavily modified LT1 engine/trans(soon to be LS1) i did the conversion from the 93-97 body to the 98-02 body i also own a 1999 T/A WS6 with a semi modified LS1 its hard trying to make 2 hot rods but im managing!!! anyway i was in wal mart on Christmas Eve while i was in line i was lookin through the Super Chevy mag i stumbled across a TCI ad, i was really hoping for this for a long time because i hate manual transmissions i was thinking about putting a TCI 6x speed automatic tranny in my 99 T/A now i can run against those 5 & 6speed manuals and show em a thing or two the TCI tranny can handle up to 850 hp but im going to stop at about 475hp i dont need that much power i think u guyz oughta check it out basic package is about $6400 & some change that aint bad i might go for it but i wont tell people about the tranny upgrade they'll find out at the track !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! peace to all my brothers in fbodyness we are 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've installed and tuned a couple of 6X's. You'll absolutely love it! With the 2.97 first gear and the close ratios, you don't have to run much rear gear. Good luck with your projects!

So this is a total newb question.
Performance wise what are the advantages of this tranny over a built 4L60E? Longer shifts?

two extra gears...different gear ratios that let you accelerate quicker w/o changing up the rear end ratios..etc etc.

now auto guys don't have to sacrifice mpgs/driveability when they throw in those 4.11s 4.56s etc etc.

shweet. i'll wait till the price comes down though lol

And it would also help to eliminate some of that potential for driver error!
