Default How do you identify what year vehicle a 4l80e came out of.

I looking at buy a 4l80e from a guy and he doesn't know what the transmission came out of or even what year vehicle it came from. I just want to make sure its not from like a pre 2000 model. I have a 2004 lq4 I want to use the transmission with.

if you cant read the year on the tag, ck and see if the cooler return line
is further back, like about half way on the trans-if it is, its a newer model
also some later ones had the 12 o clock bolt

Do the later model like 2001-2008 have a tag like that? I have never ran a 4l80e but I know the 4l60e's that I have had didn't have a tag like that. They had a paper like tag with a bar code on them with a number across the bottom and from that number you can tell what year vehicle the trans came from.
Thanks for the help I appreciate it. I just want to make sure if I buy one it will work with my 2004 lq4 I have.

Thanks look like the one the guy had was a 95. The small tag had the numbers 95-3241110 and 13kkp-6. No top bolt hole.
