USED stall... Am I look for trouble whats the pros and con of a use older stall for a good price if i get it would i be kicking my self in the ass :bang: |
if u get a good deal and are worried i believe u can send it back to the original company to have it freshened up. but i personally went with a circle-d 3-3200 they are only like 400 new and im extremely happy so far. |
yea the one i want fro circle d is 695 for a 3800 and this one is an 4000 for 300 any idea how much it cost to get freshed up |
id get the circle-d ive had mine in for a couple days now. granted mines only a 3-3200 its great |
Vigilante(Precision Industries) charged me $225 to freshen up mine, It was over 2 years old or they would have done it for free for the original owner. The clutch was worn too, so another $65..It was my converter though, I decided to pull the Yank(Only because I started to bracket race again & wanted to be more consistent) |
I think aslong as its a reputable brand and in working order when u get it u will be fine...if not see how much it is to get it cut and cleaned and see where that leads u as far as money goes. |

I bought my vig 2800 close to 10 years ago to someone off of ls1.com. I've never had any problems. It's just like any other car part. You take a risk buying used parts. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. Sending it back to the original builder for a refresh is probably the best idea. When I first got mine, I was told to at the very least, dump out the old tranny fluid in the converter and run a magnet through it just to make sure there aren't any large pieces of metal in it. If you find some, send it back. You don't want to buy a converter from a blown tranny. |
