Default Could a small 2.0 3200 stall kill my stock trans?

Is it likely to break my stock transmission?

Would 3.73 gears be nearly as good instead of a small stall for acceleration in the 30-60 range?

Thanks for the advise

how many miles are on it? it should be ok just make sure to add a cooler and syn. ATF. 3.73s will work fine. id consider a shift kit too.

Dont be afraid to go fast. As a friend has always told me "Picking parts with your vag never got anybody fast"

Agreed, BUT I live in the UK, and a built trans is going to cost me a FORTUNE with shipping and import duty.

60k miles, and would do cooler and fluids at the same time.

So, could a small stall hurt my trans, is it likely to, and would it be much better for acceleration than the 3.73 gears?

Thanks for the advise

A stall will be fine. Heat will kill the transmission. Keep it cool and fluid and filter changed and you will be fine. I would bypass the stock cooler in the radiator though.

I would do a stall either way but if you have 3.23's already then you won't notice that much from gears.

Thats such BS...charging DUTY fees, what ever happened to free trade, oh, wait that is just a one way street! Overseas companies can ship to US for nothing basically but US companies can't sell their products because foreign countries charge these duties that make our products too expensive! I belive that the USA should start charging these hish-*** duties too, maybe even higher, so our economy can grow.

I was wondering the same thing, if the stock trans would live behind a stall, but it goes without saying, depends on how bad you beat her up!

Default stall

I am running the ss3600 stall from yank on a stock trans. I put a big cooler on it and run the factory, no problems.
When you get it tuned, please get it tuned the unlocking and locking of convertors is awful. Dont exceed 6200 for the shift points and keep it cool.
covertor locks on mine only in D at 60mph.
I have factory 3.23's and made many track passes no problems.

2.0 STR is only about 10% higher than stock and won't raise
input torque by that much.

I've driven "enthusiastically" on 3000/2.2 and 3500/2.0
converters for maybe 6 years or so, trans is happy as far
as I can tell. I did tweak up the trans settings a fair bit to
get pressure profiles the way I wanted, more about the
lockup clutch than anything else but I also made sure the
pressure was all-in by 300 lb-ft, so frictions will not want
for line pressure when they need it.
