Question Do new converters need to have a brake in period?

If you buy a new converter do you need to brake it in? If so what would be the procedure?
Thanks

Yea, depending on the product, some do, some done. If you ever get a chance, read a Moser 12 Bolt Instruction Manual. For street cars there is a specific method of breaking it in on the jack stands and heat cycling.

For Rail (drag cars). Install, Check Fluid, Pull to the Line...... lol that was funny to read.

I think it depends on the lock-up clutch lining. Yank uses a Kelvar lining for some of there converters and I believe those are the ones that need a break-in period.

I cycle the lockup clutch a couple of times before I pounce on it hard. Basically test drive for 10 miles then check fluid before dropping the hammer.
