Will the trans out of an 2004 GTO work in my 99 Trans Am? Is there any real differences?

For the most part it is the same transmission. The tail housing is different and the shifter shaft is a long one where yours is a short one. These two things would have to be changed in order for the GTO trans to work in your vehicle. Hope this helps. Vince
