Th350 and RPM's

Ok not complaining but just wondering on something here. I have '95 Formula, LT1, LT's, LTCC, TH350 w/Yank 3600. I just recently did the TH350 install, about 400mi into it, and I have a question about the RPM's it turning. I used the F-Body chart for ratios of the th350, tire size, gears, rpm ect to get an idea of what RPM's it would be turning and I am WAY off from the chart. I have confirmed that I have 2:73 (terrible yes) in the rear. I counted teeth myself. But I am turning 3000rpm at 65-68mph. According to the chart I should be doing that at closer to 2300-2400 rpm. So is somethings crazy in my tranny? I did not think the ratios in the th350 could be changed but I'm not sure what gives? My only other thinking was it didnt really have 2:73. But I am now positive it does. So is the stall causing this? I'm lost. Like I said, not that I'm one complaining on gas milage. I would not trade my two V8's for anything!!!

Possibly converter slip, I don't know if that chart takes that into account.

I have 323's and at 3k in high gear Im at 65. I don't do the mathematical formula stuff, bc to me it don't matter. I hate turning my car high rpm's so when I take my car out, I cruise it. try not to take it over 27-2800, just let em come around me.

that's not bad at all, my stock converter and a 27" tire with 3.23's is turning about 2700 at 65ish(speedo doesn't work well).

I figured it was probably converter slip. I dont take it over the 2700-3000 mark when I am just cruising it. I figured much over 3000 wouldnt be to healthy in the long run. I am using a GPS speedo right now off of my phone, I have been to lazy and cheap to finish that part of the project. Been hard enough to keep my foot out of it for the break in on the converter!:D But now thats in I will say the Yank converter was well worth the $

do you have a short tire, and is the speedometer correct
loose converters and tall gears dont mix great, was the converter custom built for the cam, rear, and tire size-anyone of those changes will change stall also
lol, funny, with older cars, we are installing OD's, with newer cars guys are rem OD's-of course, a non OD is def a cheaper choice

Yeah it was custom built to the car. Using a GPS speedo so I know that's correct. Running stock tire size and that was also some info figured in for the converter.
Haha yeah I had one toasted 4L60 and my second one was acting up big time. I had this th350 here already so I figured why not!
