Jake's Performance Summer Sale

https://ls1tech.com/forums/sponsor-s...mmer-sale.html

Just a heads-up.

We'll be running a sale on our Stage II 4L80Es for July. Transbrake included at no extra charge and free shipping. We ran this sale at the beginning of the year and had an excellent response here so we'll do it again for July.

Just to stir thought,
it may be less expensive to convert your car to a 4L80E and have 750 HP reliable 1 yr warranty than to build a killer 4L60E.

Some customers have been afraid of the conversion process. We can suggest parts to help you complete the conversion. Some minor trimming.
Usually you can use your stock driveline with a yoke change. An aftermarket UMI or BMR crossmember and it's bolted in.

Quite a few guys have done it and we've done several in the shop as well, it's a 1 day conversion for us.

1 yr warranty for up to 750 HP/TQ. We want you to abuse it!

Damn good deal indeed, I never get why people are so worried about the crossover from the 60e to the 80e

If my 60 doesn't survive then I will be looking into this.

Jake how much to build a TH400 with a transbrake to hold up to 700hp. Just going in a H/C ls1 with nitrous.

Also would like to know pricing for th350 built to handle 750bhp.

Our Stage II TH400 is $1500 with a transbrake. It comes with a deep aluminum pan and RMVB transbrake.

I prefer to build a TH400 at that power level. It will be less expensive up front and in the long term. TH350s are a great trans but start to run into their design limits at that power range.

I can do either trans but need to know what all you want out of it, transbrake, etc?

I have a 1972 with a ls1/4l60e combo in it, 10bolt 8.5 rear
Can you guarantee that it will fit in my 1972 camaro and that I don`t need to have a new driveline axle ?

Here are the specs to the motor I have built that I am looking for a transmission to put behind it. I currently have a 4L60E with a 3200 Vigilante but plan on reflashing the stall to 4200.
LS6 Block, Darton 427 sleeves
Comp Cam: 256/264 - 625/625 - 113+4
Dart Heads: 250cc Port Volume, 68cc Chamber Volume 2.08 Intake / 1.60 Exhaust Valves
FAST 90 Intake, Holley 90 T/B
42lb Green Top Injectors
Calles Dragonslayer 4" Stroker Crank
Compstar Rods
Diamond Pistons, Dome

I dont really see me converting to a 4L80E but would like to have my tranny hold 600RWHP. It will remain naturally aspirated and doubtfull I will ever spray the car.
It will be driven at the track on Friday nights, the golf course on Saturday and Church on Sunday. The rest of the time it will sit in the garage with a cover.

I also want a trans brake installed.

What do you have for me? Thanks in advance!

Chad

I personally wouldn't build or recommend a 4L60E for 600 RWHP. Others might but a 4L80E is a proven performer and ultimately more reliable and less expensive than a 4L60E at that power level, especially with a transbrake.

Our Stage II 4L80E will handle your power level plus some. It would also be much less expensive than a 4L60E rated for that power level with transbrake.

I already did the 4L80e install on my junk 69 Camaro, since I had a junk donor van. Now I need to pull it to install a converter. I would love to get a rain check on that stage 2 for when I break my tranny. Also, can you or Chris help me with a converter? $800 is pushing it a little, and I got beat at a stoplight by a new 5.0 because of my stock converter. I didn't have the room to run him down. I ran 2.3 60' and 114 at the track.

I am really glad I waited to find the 4L80e and included it in the swap. No regrets and I don't miss that huge 1-2 rpm drop like the 4l60.

Jake's Performance 08-15-2011 12:21 AM

Sorry,
$800 is the lowest cost large clutch billet converter on the market and the price will be increasing due to material costs. I make very litte on those converters. Really not enough for the time invested.

Jake
