I'm curious as to why you would ask this question. Do you have a -2 kit installed in your 80e already... or are you trying to plan an upgrade to your existing 80e?

In the past I have seen guys take a 60e hd-2 kit and just make the valve body / hydraulic mods but not remove the transmission and modify the rotating assembly. That usually is not a very good idea.

I would dual feed on any 4l80. The HD-2 kit dual feeds the directs for you. Although I prefer doing it internally, and ditching the HD-2 plate. It's just another potential leak to occur, that's easily eliminated.

Hi G , I have the transgo hd2 kit installed already in the trans. It been running ,for about 30,000 k. At 1000rwhp . I have stripped the box due to lock up in reverse, and found a broken rear planet set , due to lube issues. I think I have addressed, but locking at the direct frictions they are the worst. I've heard about this mod in the 400s and I hear that they do it for the 4l80e.
I'm only asking for expert advice . In Australia this box is not a common unit.
most hard parts I have to source from Us. Hope this answers your q.

The HD2 kits are good but you are probably beyond its capabilities.

to upgrade from my hd2 transgo (already installed ) do i remove the seal from the direct drum , drill a bleed hole on corner of drum below piston, remove the second ring from the center support , block the return hole on the left of
the centre support feed orifice , and ditch the transgo plate.
