A4 Blues; What's broke?

After much smack talking I finally broke my A4 in my double oute Camaro SS. I was driving on one of those 7 degree days last Dec., went to pass someone, (in OD to the floor 4th to 2nd) and car makes a bad brake pad noise in 1st, 4th, and reverse. Trans temp still very cool. On jacks, in reverse, trans would lock up, wheels would not spin backward. Now it doesn't do that anymore, but still makes bad brake pad like noise. I don't think I smoked any clutches, but think I broke the spag or something came or broke loose. All gears still work. Just need to know what is broke before I open trans up when it gets warmer.

Enter a couple symptoms in the search, Ive tried the same thing, when thinking about upgrading mine to prevent this, and I know Ive seen something like that in there, youre definately on the right track. Good luck

Thanks for the input aNuBiS. I've allways had people tell me, "You can't do that. Take it to a shop". Seems like the shop manages to F it up worse than it was before they got ahold of it.

FaSS Black.

The sunshell won't take the torque. Same thing happened to me in a 4 - 2
pass of a slower car. 2, 4th, and R wouldn't work...

Sounds like what mine did when I broke my sprag. I had to floor it in 1st and 2nd to get it to go anywhere. Once it hit 3rd it went fine.
