Shift points for mild H/C/I car with 2.73's??? Just got this car. It's got a built 4l60e with 2.73's in it still. Has Livernois LS6 heads with a 218 cam and LS6 intake. Makes right around 400hp. Where should I have it shifting? Shifting at like 5900 now and I believe that's quite a lot too low considering it's not putting it back in to peak power after the shift. Also, I got a predator tuner with it, will that allow me to up the shifts and rev limiter? The guy who had it built intentionally made it a highway car with very friendly driving characteristics so I'm guessing that's why it was tuned that way... Thanks |
I would say around 6400 but it depends on the cam and the motor. What can you manually shift it put it in 1st rap it out till you hear you need to shift and see or put it on a dyno and see where the peak power curve is then set your shit points |
Yeah I plan on taking it and having it dyno'd real soon, but am gonna take it to the track Friday. The cam is small but it's got built heads so I'd imagine peak would be in the 6k range. It has 1.8 rockers btw. |
Your dropping back after a shift into your power range is controlled by your torque convertor. A set of 3.73s would wake thar car up. |

Just feel like I may get a bit more out of it if it shifts a little higher for now, before I decide what I'm gonna do to it. Didnt know if the predator was worth plugging in or not... Guy I bought it from said he never even tried it out. |
