Default ADVICE NEEDED! 4L60E w Circle D 3600 stall not shifting correctly at all

Situation is a buddy's car- but he can't get a straight answer from anyone.

94' LT1, with 4L60E and new circle D stall.

He was apparently told by PCMforless and Circle D that his ECM wouldn't need to be retuned for this new converter.

Well, it basically just bounces off the rev limited shifting from 1st to 2nd and so hes forced to get off the gas. The transmission is brand new. Literally went in this week- it was doing the exact same thing on his old stock tranny. Converter has a few hundred miles on it.

So, either its a bad converter, or he needs to get his computer re-tuned.

Anyone?? Thanks

Not a bad converter and if he coming froma stock or much lower converter he will need are retune sounds like what some call stall wall effect. I would say a tuning issue.

He will need to program new shift pt's , and new MPH's for the convertor to lock up properly, etc. If it still continues then you might have to go to a vacuum mod tocontroll the shifts. That cured all my 60e problems. Well that and 4k.

You need a tune on a dyno, to correct your shift points, and compensate idle due to a smaller than stock converter, plus other things that slip my mind.
