4l60 tuning question

My tuner has my converter setup to lock in through shifts. I am having issues with my truck either not shifting into 3rd at WOT or it shifts so hard it blows the back tires off. I only have this problem at the track, not so much on the streets. Would changing that trans setting have a positive effect on my times (reducing them).

If you need more information just ask, 2004 ls1 stock, tuned, stock 4l60e with stock truck converter.

Reason I ask, a guy I know is telling me that the converter being locked up through the shifts is what is causing my problems. I give him some credit on knowing a fair amount about cars but he is by no means an expert. I assume my tuner knew what he was doing when he set it up that way.

If there are any other thoughts out there, please share them.

Thanks

The factory setting is to disable TCC lockup during shifts. Otherwise a shift will be super harsh, like side stepping the clutch in a manual.
Also, unless you have a very special/expensive/rare triple-clutch converter, the TCC lockup should not be engaged during WOT operation or you will quickly ruin it.
Some dyno pulls are done with the TCC locked up, but it is done very carefully - engage it under part throttle and then keep it engaged during the WOT test.
Since I'm no expert on this, I'm curios what others say, but I suspect the consensus will be that any TCC lockup during drag racing is a bad idea.

That might be why I have already gone through 3 transmissions.

RPM says to never lock converter during a shift.
