car not shifting right after gear install I have a 98 z auto. Went from a 2.73 gear to a 3.73 last summer and ever since the car won't shift from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd under wot when manually shifting it out. When left in over drive it doesn't do this and its only when I'm wide open throttle. I even programmed it for the gear with a hypertech programmer. I'm gonna be getting the car tuned soon for some other mods, you think a tune will fix this issue?

There are three tables (that I can immediately think of) that need to change with a gear change. Certainly sounds like the WOT shift table (based on BOTH rpm and speed) if off.
So yes, a proper tune should fix this.

I figured it was something to do with the tune or something electronic bc I never had one problem with the transmission before the gear change. Thanks man I've posted this before and never got an answer until now. I'm getting the car tuned anyway for other mods when I get it ready
