Default Confused...LS1 to TH400 w/ stock converter. (I have searched)

So for a short temp solution to get my Chevelle on road I picked up a TH400 and since I'll only run it a few months I will just run stock converter.

I threw a junk crank in a junk block to check what spacer I need. With converter all the way back in trans it already is against flexplate? I can spin it but it is lightly touching. Normally you should have to pull converter forward.

Do you know what crank you are using? There is an extended version and that could cause the problem you are having. And what flexplate are you using?

Stock shorter crank and F-body flexplate.

Hmmmm.... It should fit. The flexplate will need to be drilled for the correct bolt pattern and you will need a crank extender for the converter pilot. Double check the converter to make sure it is stabbed all the way. It should be just over an inch if you measure from the bellhousing to the converter pad.

I will pull my mock up back apart to really be sure converter is all the way back...if it does go back more I know I just need the spacer with longer bolts...
