Jakes 60E, I can't afford the 80E

So my stock 60E gave out. My 99 T/A is stock 300 horsies. I'm not going to do much to it and I don't take it to a strip, I just drive it fast and WOT sometimes but I try to be gentle with the car.

So the question is will a good stage 1 4L60E from Jakes Performance be a great option for me? Should I go to stage 2 or is that not necessary for my application? If I could afford the 80E I would get that.

-Thank You for any opinions

call and ask them. Ace racing also builds 4l60e, they're in dallas. If you don't plan on doing upgrades to your engine get their stage 1.

Thanks, I did contact Jakes Performance and they said the Stage 1 will be great for my needs. I just wanted more opinions before I go trough with it since $2,000 was not easy to save up. My car has been sitting in the garage for about 5 months now.

If Jake says the stage 1 will be fine, I would take his word for it. I bought one of his th400s and he is a very stand up and knowledgeable guy. If you dont plan on going to the track of doing a whole lot of racing then I wouldn't see why it wouldn't hold up.

I would suggest getting an aftermarket trans cooler to help out even more.

Any thought on the MonsterTrans.com?? I was just looking at there 60 and 80 setups. They seem very good in price.

Google "monstertrans.com bbb" - 26 complaints in the past 3 years.

Then Google "jakesperformance.com bbb" - only 2 complaints in the past 3 years.

Jake is considered an industry expert on the 4L80E; he has nearly 1000 posts here, nearly 9000 on nastyz28.com and more on other forums. He is also in Texas.
Monstertrans.com does not support or help anyone on forums (I suspect there is a good reason for that.)
