Cool "Oops": 4l80e Shifter Shaft Retainer Pin

So, I was putting my new shifter shaft in when I decided to have butter fingers and drop the retainer pin (nail) into the passage just beneath the hole into the case... I tried a magnet and shop vac, but nope! Now I'm at the point where I need to disassemble to get it out.. What I am wondering is, this is a fairly simple disassemble and reassemble to this point correct? The passage seems to be the access to the overdrive assembly right? First time diving into a transmission, but from what I have researched THIS "seems" to be easy.
