Ibought a 2000 ss Camaro roller is 6 speed manual shift car.Iplan on installing a 6.o and 4l60e trans.Looking at automatic shifter their is no real place to mount in trans tunnel.Has anyone tried this?Ihave a auto console which will mount but air bag control in the way and no front support for shifter mounting plate,could use some help

justafool makes a plate that will let you install a aftermarket shifter in a stock A4 console.

Tons of people have done this. Take as thick of metal as you can bend by hand, form it over the tunnel, use self tapping screws to screw it down. Simple as that. I'm sure if you use the search feature or look bad a couple pages you'll find more people that have done it.

can I see picture of your plate and how it mounts,maybe Ican use your plate,thanks walt

I cut the missing part of the tunnel out of an auto car and welded it in. If you can’t weld you could use self-tapping screws to screw it down, just make sure you screws are too long. Now with your tunnel from the auto car in place a stock shifter will bolt right up just like stock.
