4L80E hands down. 1000HP in a 6L80E is tricky; 1000HP in a 4L80E is routine.
Many Gen-5 Camaros with turbos or other big adders and installing 4L80E after they blow up their 6L80E.
Part of the issue is the critical tuning - as I understand it, a tuning mistake can apply two gears at once, destroying the transmission.
GM is moving as fast as it can to their new 8 speed.

thanks.

I have this reply from Century Transmission :

Our Stg 5 4L80 can handle up to 2500+ hp. Our best (Stg 2) 6L80 is rated to 1100 rwhp.

That is very typical and shows the performance potential of each.
Our sponsor Jake Performance is widely considered to build the best 4L80E anywhere and at a very reasonable price. Why not contact them.

Contact jakes for sure. I went with their stage 5 4l80 with their triple disk converter, and it will hold anything I can throw at it. Awesome people to deal with. They are out of Texas and I ordered all the way from CT without one hiccup at all! Call them and you won't be disappointed!
