If its questionable, just replace it. It cost a few bucks. Not worth measuring, inspecting, etc.

Is this a LS1 F-body?, If so, The bushing is lined with Teflon & rarely wears out on a car. I replace bushings 100% on customers transmissions, Though on my Camaro, The bushing was in perfect shape & I reused it.

Default 4l60e tail housing bushing inspection/specs????

If the yoke wobbles significantly, or the yoke shows a wear pattern (the yoke is harder than the bushing), then replace the bushing (and the yoke if it is worn).

Drive it out using a bushing driver that doesn't bind (drive it into the housing); drive it in the same way (from the narrow end).

But as was said above, they're usually ok.

Always use the Teflon bushing here. I have seen them go over 300K miles and still be in good shape. This never happens with the Bronze bushings. Always polish the driveshaft yoke with 600 - 1500 grit sand paper in the direction of rotation. The yoke must be in perfect shape, and always use the 3 lip Vamac rear seal. Some of these seals come with grease already in them.

I believe this is the seal you want for the rear (Vamac 3 lip), confirm that it's the one you need before purchasing. It's pretty easy to install. One came with my rebuild kit.

Ok, thanks

( I'll confirm that it's a Vamac 3 lip for 4L60E extension housing )
