4L60e From '04 GTO Into '99 T/A Questions
Hey everyone, my tranny is starting to let go because I have lost the ability to go into 3rd gear at WOT. Currently, my friend is selling a used 4L60e from an '04 GTO w/ 110K miles. My question is what will be needed to swap over besides the pans and add a torque arm relocation bracket too (GTO has a deeper pan thus, it will not read correctly)? I also noticed that 4L60e has a safety neutral switch versus the F-Bodies are built internally. Can I leave it unplugged or it has to be connected. I just want to know if there is anything I would need to do so I can put it in with no problems.

The only change you should need to make should be the extension housing.
Even the pan should work, it will just hold more fluid. The dipstick still measures fluid level where the pan meets the trans so it doesn't matter if it is deeper. (it may use a different filter inside though, be aware of this during fluid/filter changes)
I'm not aware of the difference with the NSW. But I bet you could Google and find the answer to that.
