Default Can only get 10 quarts in newly installed 4l80e

I recently installed my 4l80 with manual box from a reputable builder on here and am only able to fit 10 quarts of fluid with the dipstick reading a little over full with car running. I have a yank py3600 converter and the B&M tranny cooler with the fan which is mounted pretty close to transmission (under passenger seat) so the lines are short. I have followed the filling procedure and the pan was off to verify dipstick accuracy. I read so many posts about 4l80e taking 12-15 quarts from bone dry and this has me worried. The car runs perfect and I have been on several short drives checking the fluid and she reads full. My point for this post is to get some feedback if this is normal or not. Thanks

I used an aftermarket dip stick and when I checked mine with the pan off I made the mark
on the dipstick even with the pan rail which was 3/16" higher then the mark on the stick.
Does your car sit level?
My Nova has a stink bug kinda stance so I level it off when I check it.

I am using the madman dipstick and pulled the pan to verify the accuracy. It was right where it was supposed to be. Yea I was checking in my driveway which is flat. I know the transmission shop dynos the transmissions before shipping so im guessing a couple quarts were still in the transmission? I emailed the builder to see what he tells me.

With around a 10" converter, a fresh 80E will take sometimes a little over 12 qts.
80E's like to be full. Your fill mark will prob be a little higher than the pan rail.
If they did dyno the trans, good bet some fluid was still in it. A dipstick needs to be accurate.
GM specs a pan removal fill as 7.7 qts, and a dry trans fill at 13.5 qts, but not sure if that includes the conv, but I suspect it does.

I was told from Jakes, full mark is 1/4 above pan rail. That's where I ran mine with no issues and took about 12 quarts with a 9.5 inch covnerter

Little update I now have 11.5 quarts total in car and dipstick is reading a little high. I have 28 inch tires in the back and the car wasn't sitting level which was causing a slight misreading at first. I hooked up a pressure gauge and the transmission isn't dropping pressure so I'm assuming the fluid is good. Very happy with Jakes Stage 3 4l80e so far and love the full manual box. Going from t56 to 4l80e is huge improvement on turbo car.
