I will let someone correct me if I'm wrong but.....

On a 4-3 wot down shift the 3-4 clutch pack stays engaged so that's not a problem. I do constant 4-3 wot downshifts with no issues but in 4-3 downshift the 2-4 band releases, in 4th the forward sprag is not engaged but once in 3rd the forward sprag is applied and comes to a hault which is harder on it.

On a 4-2 wot downshift the 2-4 band stays applied, the forward sprag engages like said but the 3-4 clutch packs release and as they release they are kinda sling shot as they release and rpms build.

On a 3 or 4-2 downshift I usually manually drop it down into 2nd and speed match it a bit.
