8l90e coupled to a 210hp 6 cyl Perkins diesel Hi guys, yes I’m very much a novice, I have a 4Wd custom built Oka [google} repowering with a 6 cyl mechanical diesel Perkins 210 hp and 750ft/lbs from 1200 to 1600 rpm and max rev 2500. Will remove the 5 speed manual spicer box and wanting to fit a 8l90e tranny. The engine being mechanical injection and not electonic control I’m feeling that to get the 8 speed running right maybe very much a challenge or can I be pointed in the right direction please appreciated any help cheers |
8L90e is fully electronic, didn't know there was a stand alone control box for it yet.. Did you find one? |
No, basically I’ve posted a few sites seeking expertise in this area as to what will be required to make this doable |
Given the cost of the tranny alone I would be looking at TCI's 6speed based on the 4l80e. They already did the hard part of R&D. Sounds like cool project. |
Thanks for the reply 67 yes have previously researched the TCI 6 speed but sought after the 2 overdrives being .85 and .667 as the Oiler has the torque to tick along at design speed of 60 mph at 1600 rpm with hopefully the optimum fuel burn . |
