Default 4th gen fbody transmission cable

Oem cable is discontinued for my 1994 z28. This new cable has different ends. Ac delco 12558306. Where or what do I have to do to make this work. It's at transmission shop and seems like they are scratching there heads as well.

None. Unless you feel like elaborating on "Junk yard, replaced with original".

If the cable and shifter are exactly the same it could be the hard rubber bushing inside of the cable end. I've heard they get brittle and rot out. Also heard, maybe seen Dorman/Help packs of those at the auto parts store.

If you could be more specific you could get more accurate help.

Like what car?
What shifter?
What did the cable come out of?
Pictures would help.
