Besides the "bolt-up" issues, it should also be researched whether the C6 TCM supports the 4L65E. (oops, technical error, see my next post)
My C6 is manual.

Oops, the TCM for the 6l80E on the C6 is built into the transmission itself and communicates with the ECM and BCM via the CAN bus.
Therefore, to switch to a 4L65E will require determining which TCM is compatible with the ECM (and BCM??), mounting it and wiring it in.

First year c6 got the 4l65e stock. I would recommend sourcing parts from that vehicle as a direct bolt in option. Just as GM intended

Good catch to note that the 2005 C6 had the 4L65E. It appears the 6L80E came out in 2006.
The 2005 TCM is available on ebay for $65; search "2005 Corvette C6 Automatic Transmission Control Module 24231673".

Anyone know if the 2006+ transaxle will bolt up to the 4L65E?

What ever became of this build? I'm interested in pulling the m6 from my 08 vette in favor of a 4L60e.
