B&M ratchet shifter with A4 center console come in Anyone got a template for where to cut the hole in the OEM 98-02 center console bezel for the reverse lock out? I don't want to dremmel in the wrong place and have to buy another shift trim for $100. I'm using JustAfool's custom mount. https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...y-console.html |
In my 2002 Camaro, The only hole in the floor; is the one large rectangular hole for the gear selector/ mounting plate. The reverse lock-out solenoid did not come up through the floor. It comes out of the transmission on a diagonal up towards the floor, but does not come inside. WOW! I can not read! I was talking about the T56 transmission in these cars not a 4L60E with that B&M shifter... Damn, I am losing it! |
1 Attachment(s) I found what I needed. This pic shows where the hole is to be cut on the trim plate: Attachment 715178 Hopefully the OEM shift cable is long enough to work with a pro ratchet 80842 in a 2000 f-body? |

B&M cables are Eyelet End at Shifter and 10-32 Thread End at Transmission which should be same as stock, no? |

Yea, the shifter if you bought it complete will have the correct shift arm and cable hook ups. If not, you WILL need the correct shift cable and arm. |
Thanks for the replies! Just lifted the cardboard out of the bottom of the box and I see that it comes with the 80833 shift cable. Well that's one issue solved. I see that I will also need to order separately a 75498 PRNDL switch? Might as well get the 80534 billet shift knob while I'm at it using the SAVENOW $10 off $100 at jegs. I like to make sure I have everything I need before starting a project. |

once its all sorted,, you can get a really nice made to length cable for Wicks or aircraft spruce or at a local GA airport.. If you want to remove the excess.. Cheers |
Does the trans need to be dropped a few inches to install the new shift cable for better clearance or can I keep the trans bolted up during this install and for feeding the cable? I'm thinking about tackling this in my garage on jack stands. I'm assuming the location where it mounts onto the trans can be accessed without having to remove the exhaust or anything? |
no need to move trans around. yea you can tackle this in the garage, just take your time and read the directions on which pan bolts to remove and where to put he trans bracket. |
