converter wont bolt up to flexplate 4l80e to ls3 Made the mistake of bolting the motor to the tranny without checking bolt circle diameter, come to find out the 4l80e converter and flexplate I bought are about 1/8 to 3/16 off. The converter has a smaller bolt circle pattern. Can i machine the holes to fit or should i find the correct flexplate? I didnt know there was different flexplate bolt diameters. Trying to get this LS3 swapped, need some suggestions ? |
Sounds like u have a 80e converter built on a 60e pattern. What flexplate are u running? Do u have proper spacing between converter and plate? If so yea u can open up holes a lil bigger for bolts. I do this all the time with th350/400 swaps with a 60e plate |

First, Why do you have two different posts asking the same question? And second, Did you read my reply to your other post? Call Yank for confirmation, We had to use a 4l60E dished flexplate with a yank 4l80e converter. |

Pulled motor this morning. I am going to bring the flexplate to work and machine it to fit. Its nice when you have access to mills and lathes as I am tool maker. |
