Can't decide. Powerglide or 4l80e

Ok im building a street car. 1000hp at the wheels. Engine setup done. 370ci twin turbo in a 2000 firebird. Power steering full interior. This project will be like a 90% street and 10% track. I'm looking for street ability which i know the 4l80e will work. How would a powerglide work on the street and express way driving. I'm thinking the same as a 4l80e seeing final gear is 1-1 but without overdrive. What's your thoughts?

Why would you install a 4l80e and not use overdrive? 90% heavy streetcar driven on the express way I will take overdrive with a lock-up converter every time. With a powerglide you would have to make too many compromises.

90% street? Definitely 4L80e.

50/50% track / street on a serious weight loss program? Powerglide.

I never said I wouldn't use overdrive. If I do the 4l80e I would absolutely use the overdrive. I was just seeing my options seeing I already have the torque converter and mount for a powrglide because my car was set up for mostly track use but now I want mostly steer use. These 2 transmission will determine also if I go with a non trans control computer like the hp or a trans control computer like the terminator x max.
Thanks for your input though.

PG doesn't have OD or lockup converter so it won't be anywhere near the same as a 4L80E.

If you were doing limited highway driving but mostly street the TH400 would be a better choice than a PG in a full weight Firebird.
