4l60 with two pink colored TCC pwm solenoids?

As the title says I found a 4l60 with two pink colored TCC pwm solenoids instead of one pink one and a 3-2 downshift darker solenoid. This is the 1995 model. I'm a little bit confused about the solenoid difference it is supposed to have. Is this supposed to be this way?!

My gut feeling Is telling me no. I'm confused because I see a lot of photos of valve bodies with two pink solenoids and none of the ones I ever been inside have been like this. I don't like spending un needed money I would really like an extra opinion!

Found the right information

"1995- Stand alone year. First year for PWM. Has an extra solinoid to control the PWM. 3-2 shift AND TCC are PWM in this trans. Has a different 3-2 control solonoid, and a extra wire in the harness to facilitate the PWM TCC lockup. Addition of a trans mounted neutral safety switch. If you put a 95 trans in a 94, it will not recognise the PWM circuits and will go in to limp mode. If you put a 94 trans in a 95, the check engine light will stay on, and the TCC and the 3-2 clutch pack will burn up after just a few miles. If you put a 96 trans in a 95, the 3-2 clutch pack will also burn up after a few miles. 95 has a 10-15 ohm TCC solenoid and a 10-15 ohm 3-2 solenoid. 12 pin connector."

I am pretty sure that I counted the number of pins in the connector and it was 14?

The 95 is unique with the PWM and 3-2 solenoids the later you have the gray and pink , But with the 1995 they both used the early 3-2 solenoid in both spots.
Some say you cant but. You can put the later solenoids in and use it with the 96 up and it will work fine. In my own car 1995 IMPALA SS. I actually used the 96 up set up aad turned off the electrical code for PWM and 3-2 just in case and it also works perfectly fine.

Awesome Sir I really appreciate the confirmation and to understand it was the only year that GM did so with.

Are there any differences in the 1 piece case from 92-97?

Glad to see you're doing your own work!!!

Yes 93 and 94 cases have no spot for the neutral swittch in side . Nor do they have a spot for the shifter bracket above pan rail used in trucks 96 up.
The 95 KCASE does have these but the holes for the neutral safty are not tapped
The Non K cases in 95 are weird they may or may not have the boses for the neutral switch but do not have the places for tthe shifter bracket.

Functionally case wise they are the same, Of course 93 and 94 were non pwm but no difference as far as the case goes.

96 up had the pndle bosses and the shifter bracket spot on all case styles.

You can used the 93 and 94 cases in FBODIES to 1997 and the IMPALA SS as the did not use the case mounted PRNDL or the shifter bracket bosses. The 96 and later can be retoed to the earlier no issues. KCASE BIG K ON TOP is typically associated with 4x4 trucks but was used in fbodies. impala ss, S10 4.3 litre trucks.

Thank you for all the extra information about the case, I love the small details the most. Ironically I'm about to pull a 96 transmission out of a 95 truck that burnt up and have

2 95's in the shop all together. This one got the correct separator plate and is closed up ready to go. I have soaked up alot of information in the last 24 hours including the below link about identifying valve bodies which is very easy to remember they even have the year on them now that I open my eyes!

Does this 1995 pwm solenoid with first type 3-2 valve indicate the same or two different solenoids?

1995 has the early "PWM" 3-2 solenoid and a PWM TCC solenoid. they are the same solenoid.for all intents and purposes. I personally just block the 3-2 solenoid and all this swapping earlier years becomes a non-issue. just need the correct solenoid to keep the CEL off, but functionally it doesn't do anything anymore.

Can you elaborate on how you block it?
