Default Who makes a killer high HP converter?

Just decided to run a 4L80E in place of the Viper T56 in my 62' Chevy 2 pro touring project. Better choice with the twin turbos and big HP. I am looking to see who makes the best converter out there for high HP use. The motor should be in the 1000-1200 hp range. Many people who I have spoken to recommend using a 3 disk lock up style converter. Who makes those??

I think I need a converter in the 3200-3400 range. Who should I be talking to?

That's certainly not an off the shelf item. I know Vig makes a multi-disk converter, but whether it is rated for 1000 HP is a question for them. Art Carr might have one. Yank was planning on making a multi-disk unit but I haven't seen it. Mike may know people who make them. You can call Kevin Winstead at TCI. I don't think they have one, but he may also know. The folks at Rossler would also have suggestions.

I remember seeing one of these but it struck me as
a specialty, small-time outfit. They claimed some huge
holding TQ/HP numbers. I can't remember the name
now unfortunately. Triple-Lock or something?

Guys,

Thanks for some leads! I have been advised by a few friends of mine that have some high HP cars that are using a Precision Industries converter. I will call a few people tomorrow!

I would not think that a PI converter would be good. Neil Chance seems to be the converter that the rediculous HP guys run

Precision Claims their converters can be built to handle 1,600hp in their print advertising.

I spoke to the guy's at Precision yesterday. They are going to custom build me a 9.5" Vigilante triple disk unit to get the job done. Going to order it next week!

Thanks for the feedback!
