Default 3-4 drum assembly with hardened shaft

Is it needed or it it overkill? My trans builder is saying that I needed, but I am not sure I do. My truck is close to 400 rwhp, and I am going to by spraying a 150 shot on top of that. I am looking at over 500 whp and 600 + lbs of torque, plus my truck wqeighs nearly 5000 lbs. The trans is built to hold 500 hp before adding the hardened shaft, so I am not sure I need to pay an additional 300.00. Any input is appreciated.

you want him to warranty the tranny? I'll rub holy water on mine every pass if that's what Rock_ON wants me to. If he has to warranty it, I do like he says.
