Tranny shifting problems with converter...

Tranny shifting problems with converter... I have installed a VIg 3200 in my 01 Formula. When i take off from a dead stop and go through the gears at the track the trans won't shift into third until it taps the rev limiter. Is there any trick to do with the shifter to make it shift with out a programmer being used. If i could keep the car off the rev limiter my mph would pick up. It hits the revlimiter adn the car acts like i jsut hit the brakes. I went 7.72 @85.7 with the car doing this in the 1/8 mile. 60 foot was a 1.62. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Tranny shifting problems with converter... Tranny cooler is on there. What i don't understand is if i downshift without oulling the shifter down it will shift back into 3rd with no rev limiter.
Re: Tranny shifting problems with converter... hey man, i would check the trans fluid. sometimes that would cause me to hit the rev limiter. check it, and add if necessary, which i'm guessing you will. then you should be good. did you do a shift kit at all? did you do a tranny cooler?

Re: Tranny shifting problems with converter... Try racing with the gear selector in OD. On some cars it makes a difference.
