Default TCI 4400 w/ TREX and 3.73s

How is this combo? I don't care about driveability, just as long as I get the times and the power. Its going to be mainly for "street" use, since going to the track is a rare event for me. In the future, I'm getting a 12 bolt, but can't right yet. So this thing will be on ET steets or Nittos for now.

I was going to get heads, but I had the heads off, and the threading on my left side of the block was almost stripped, so I don't want to take them off anymore. I just wanted something more aggressive than my current setup. And I won't be using any nitrous. Should I go ahead and do this??

3.73s = shitty gas milage, it sucks with a daily driver im gettin 10-12 mpg right now, and im actualy having midwest 3600 and FMS F14 installed as i speak. With my comp cam and 2800 i was gettin 10-12 i hope this new cam and bigger stall dont drop that more

And, FYI, I don't give a **** about gas mileage, car shaking, driveability, etc. I can't get heads, so I need the baddest NA setup I can get without getting exotic.

That's exactly the combo I had before Mine ran 11.2's in not so great weather and put down 381hp 415tq through the converter unlocked with stock heads. I don't think the dr's and ET Streets are going to hold though. Hell when my car was SI it would only hook on ET Drags with that hard hitting 2.8 STR on the TCI 4400.

My doyno graph looked like it could use more converter so I'm going with a 4800 because that's where the TQ peaked and I have also stepped up to 4.30 gears. We will see when I get the converter back what that combo is good for

With the 3.73's, T-rex, and 4400 stall I was getting 20 mpg on the hwy with 26" tires. I don't know what it was getting in town, but then again I really don't care. BTW this was and still is my daily driver I drive it everywhere 3 hrs to the track, bolt on the slicks, run 8-10 low 11 passes, put the street tires back on, and drive 3 hrs back home. Then it's off to work on Monday

Sounds like a killer setup to me.
Et streets and nitto's probally will be the only downfault.
These converters hit so hard out of the hole it will just spin those tires to death. My Full slicks even spin a little on the street, and I had a smaller converter.

BTW Bain that is real impressive numbers for stock internals and cam only.

Thats odd my "race car" gets about 20 mpg on the highway and 15 mpg in the city. Thats with a TH350 ,4600 8" converter and a spooled 8.8 w/4.10's.

Thnx for the info. I'm ordering the converter next week. I'm giving the 3500 to my buddy who in turn will give him 3000 to me so I can sell it. Now, is there any particular reason that I cannot use a small shot of nitrous on the 4400 verter? Say, around a 75 shot? Also, Mr. Bain, do you run the stock rearend? I'm thinking you don't.

Correction my converter is listed as a 4600 but wqith the power my cars puts down it stalls to 5300.
So its a 5,300 stall. Daily driver!
