Anyone Run 4.10's With Th400??

Do you drive on the street and what do you top out at??

I have a th350 and 4.10 in my daily driver. not really sure what it tops out at though. I have yet to go to a 1/4 mile track. but i'm guessing with my 26" slicks right around 120 mph. but it also depends on how high your revving it.6200 and 7200 are a big difference.

we are running one in the LT1. TH400 and 4.10 gear in 12 bolt.

its a bad idea unless you run a 28" tire or bigger and turn a LOT of rpms on the big end.

see what RPM you shift and put that in to a tech calculator. But you are going to need to run a 28in tire anyway you look at it.

So if I want to drive on the street 3.42's are better???

Absolutely. 3.23's or 3.42's are a good middle ground for a street/strip car. Think of it this way..put your 4l60E into drive (3) and look at what the RPM's are unlocked. That is where you'd be (given equal stall speeds and gears) with a TH350 or TH400. 4.10's would be nuts in a street car.

Yeah you would have to run 31" street tires just to do 60 mph at 3000 rpm! :drive:

heck yeah...

TH350, 4.30's, 28" tires

White98Z Jun 16, 2005 06:46 PM

if you use a 3.42 and a 400 with a 21% deeper first gear it will seem like a 4.14 in first.
