Biggest tranny pan without clearance issues? I see LS1speed.com offers a +2 quart pan, and Thunder Racing offers a +3 quart pan. My car is lowered almost 2 inches, so even though the ground would hit the y-pipe, torque arm mount, or SFC's first, it's still a concern. What is everyone else using, and how much deeper is it from the stock pan? |
Of the ones I've been through, the best compromise is the GM truck pan. Steel (dent, not crack), drain plug, seals right. TCI finned deep pan was too low for my 1" drop. Plus the truck pan (like 2002 Silverado 5.3) uses a deeper filter that fits just right. 8 quarts with an already-full converter. The pan is maybe 1/2" less low than my SLP "stock manifolds" Y-pipe. The TCI was 1/2" lower, ouch, ouch, ouch, .... |
