Poly Mount vibrations....yes I searched...
Seen a lot of ppl offering up complaints about the vibration, but not to specific. I installed the ES one, with the steel shim, unmodified. I now have a pretty substantial vibration, like tires out of balance, at around 2300rpms, makes the empty pass seat shake nicely, but worried about the effects it may have on trans shafts, u joints etc.. I seen it recommended to:
A) Shim the x-member down some to make up the difference in height which would bring the u joints back into alignment.
B) Remove the shim, and trim to stops.
Has anyone actually looked into this issue to see which really needs to be done? If its only a vibration thing, and not out of alignment, then !Shim and trim stops would be accurate, but then again, ES Should stop making them like that. So I am leaning towards the shimming of the X-member to align the u joints, but havent looked around to see than angles.
Thanks.
