Hey redsscamaroboy, what's the best way to launch this thing? I have an SS3800 with nittos drs also. If I just floor it, she spins for about a half second on the street. Should I just give it part throttle and then hammer it?

The best I've done is a 1.67 with my SS4000 and MT drag radials on stock 10 bolt. The only other mods I've got is 3:73's and a tune.

How do you launch though? Do you stall it before the tire breaking point or do you go WOT from idle or do you ease into the gas?

What is the STR for the Yank ST3800? Mines is a 2.55. Haven't tried stalling it that high with these tires yet. I left from idle on the street and left a 10 foot patch of rubber.

Default 1.622

I stall it to max , holding it with foot and handbrake, then stomp it. 1.622 with ET street radials. It almost wheelstands. I think it stalls to almost 3000rpm like that.

i've read it's a 2.60, but most people say it's 2.50-2.55.. I called Yank and they said they thought it was 2.50. They stopped making the ST line a while ago

Any wheelspin with that or did she just grab and go?

I have run a best of 1.60, but it only did it once. I have had a few 1.62, and many 1.64's in the spring. 3650# 3.23's and ss3800, which most of the time will stall around 3600 according to logs with efilive. No wheelspin that is noticable on graph, but it is 'possible' it is slowly spinning. ET streets 26x11.5 on 16x8 wheels ata the time.

I have 3.73's in now, and plan on getting to the track this weekend.

It just grabs and goes. ET street Radials even in 235/60 x 15 are awesome

1.50 with a SS4200, stock internal, 3600 lbs. Mine likes to launch at about 2500 RPM, any higher and it slows down.

Do you hold the rpms at 2500 or leave off idle?

Hold at 2500 normally, but flashing off idle is almost the same, I just like to power brake it up some. I have tried all kinds of launches. Higher than 3k really slows it down.

I'm guessing because it spins slightly. I haven't tried launching it at 2500. I'll try that and see what happens with these nittos. At 4000, it just kills them but the car jumps forward after spinning for about half a sec.

Mine has no chance of a stomping full throttle on the street - even on MT ET streets - it lays two line 100 feet long.

But at the track after a short burnout - it wont spin them at all. I didnt believe it would do that until i had tried it. The first time was a hell of a shock. The pic is above of the second time ever doing a 1.68

Foot brake to 2000 rpm, then roll into it .
Anything more agressive and it spins ,but on the street if i roll into it at about 1500 rpm and take t easy i can get it to hook real nice.

I would guess(GUESS) on the street i can pull 1.70-1.69 60 fts,i mean that is IF i ever were to maybe get into a illegal street race, theoretically that is!!

I just swapped the SS4000 for a PT4000 and all i have to say is that this thing is VERY loose.
It stalls about 1000 rpm higher in traffic than my old vertor did.
BUT.... It also pulls much harder on the top now too .

With those Nittos your gonna have a hard time getting traction unless the track is preped real good, at OSW that would only be on a Bracket race Sat or a NoBull Sun race. I use MT dragradials 275/17s on my 2002 Formy for racing and Nitto DRs for street driving, the MT DRs are stickyer then ET streets or BFG DRs. At the track the SS3600 launches best from 2000 to 2500 stall, if you come off idle and hook you will bog the motor, if you leave above 2500 you will spin or push through the prestage lights and redlight.
Oh my best 60' w/SS3600 in my 2002 is a 1.621 on MT dragradials, they hook everytime even on the street.
