Derale Pan w/Cooling Tubes Works
I have been logging tranny temps since installing the new 3500 TC & Derale pan. I have never exceeded 200 deg in around town driving while going to slow to lockup. During lockup cruising its 180s. At the track after a full run, 184. Hot lapped (~15min between runs), 186. Just wanted to share some info with you guys.

Mine does those exact same numbers (sometimes even cooler during lockup driving down to 165*) with the stock pan and a trans cooler. Were you having trans temp problems before the pan and cooling tubes?

The 700r4 pan is the one that I'm using on my 4l60e. I'm very happy with the resulting temperatures.
I wanted the cooling to continue while the engine is off between track runs. I figured with an auxillary cooler, only the fluid in the cooler is being cooled when the engine is off. I don't know if my thinking is correct or not, but it seems to work for me.

IIRC, the pan is 1" deeper than a stock pan. Other aftermarket deep-pans, are ~2" deep.
Because of the cooling tubes, you need to retain the use of the stock filter. That's another plus to me because it is one less thing to remember when buying parts, LOL!

The dearle pan is good performance for the $$. I like the TCI pan better, but it is more $$.

Also have an '02 Z28, LS1, A4, and am thinking of replacing my stock tranny pan with the Derale GM 700 R4/L60E. Please don't laugh too hard when reading my questions, but;
a) that stock number is EXACTLY the correct fit for my A4, 4L60E?
b) no adaptations were required when you used the Derale pan - correct?
c) stock filter and gasket were used, or do you have to buy special ones with the Derale?
Would appreciate any help/info you can give me. Sounds like a simple product I should add to my Z.
Gracias.

IIRC, there was another internet vendor that sells the pan cheaper than Summit. If I stumble across it again, I'll post it.
